What is a Hire-and-Train Program? (And Why It Works)

Team Become Banker 1 min read

A hire-and-train program flips the usual order: you get selected and receive a provisional offer letter, then you train, and finally you join the bank full-time.

How it works

Banks partner with an academy (usually Manipal Academy of BFSI) to run structured programs. You clear an assessment and interview, train for a few weeks to a year, often earn a stipend, and are absorbed as an employee.

Why it's low-risk

  • The job is confirmed before you invest months of effort.
  • Many programs pay a stipend during training.
  • You earn a recognised diploma alongside the job.

Popular programs

HDFC Future Bankers 2.0, Axis Young Bankers, Kotak NextGen Bankers, IDFC Emerging Bankers and more. Talk to a counselor to find the right fit.
