Getting a bank job as a fresh graduate is far more achievable than most people think. The private banking sector hires tens of thousands of freshers every year for sales, relationship and operations roles.
1. Know the roles that hire freshers
Relationship Officer, Sales Officer, Personal Banker, Customer Service Officer and Credit Executive are the most common entry points. None of them need an MBA.
2. Get the right certification
For most sales roles you'll need the NISM Series V-A certification. Insurance roles need IRDAI certification. Both can be completed in weeks.
3. Consider hire-and-train programs
Programs like HDFC Future Bankers, Axis Young Bankers and Kotak NextGen Bankers give you an offer letter before training. They're one of the surest routes to a bank job.
4. Prepare for the interview
Communication and confidence matter more than marks. Practise mock interviews and know your basics about banking products.
At Become Banker, we compress all four steps into a 90-day, placement-linked program. Check your eligibility to get started.
